New Minibus Unveiled
3rd Hampton Hill Scout Group (3HH) and Hampton Hill Junior School (HHJS) celebrated the delivery of their brand new Peugeot Boxer 17-seater minibus, which they jointly own.
The Scout Group’s Leaders and parents, and the School’s Parents’ Association, have worked very hard over the past few years with various fundraising events, with a view to buying a newer, second-hand minibus to replace their ageing L-registered one. But when the Scout Group successfully applied to Hampton Fuel Allotment Charity for a grant to add to the monies raised, they realised that they would be able to buy a brand new one, complete with wheelchair access, and with their own specifications for carrying luggage on camping excursions and school trips. 3HH then searched for just the right vehicle, consulting with the School all the way along.
3HH Group Scout Leader Richard Moody said:
“It’s fantastic. I know that Bill Jerman, Head Teacher at HHJS, joins me in thanking all those involved. We’re very grateful to the Hampton Fuel Allotment Charity for the financial support they have given to us. Sharing the minibus with the School is a brilliant use of resources. We share the purchase and running costs. The School use it during the school day, and we use it after school, at weekends and holidays. It’s a great partnership.”
