Boating / Pulling Opportunity – 9 May 2009
We’re delighted to confirm that we have been able to arrange a half day’s boating / pulling session at the 1st Hampton Hill boathouse on the morning of 9 May 2009.
The main aim is to teach some sculling and individual rowing / pulling skills as well as some other bits and pieces that will allow you to complete your pulling activity badge. This is as a follow up to the evening we did last term throwing rope lines in the HQ. If time allows, we’ll also try and get the canoes out as well and have a play on the river with these.
At this stage we only have places for 24 Scouts split across the 2 troops: i.e. 12 from each troop. But if we get lots of interest, we’ll make sure that we organise another session for later in the term so that no one misses out.
If you would like to attend, please can you either drop me an email or let me know in the HQ soonest so that I can allocate you a place. Places will be allocated on a first come first served basis, with any over-subscriptions going on a reserve list. Once I have definite names, I will issue a kit list and final logistical details.
Enjoy! Simon
** UPDATE 2 May 2009 ** Just 7 places remaining now. Please shout if you want to come along.
