CubJam Wow !!!

Cubs

20090523 CubJamHi CubJammers!!!

Wow – what a week, totally awesome. Our biggest and longest 3HH Cub Camp ever and all under canvas. I don’t know about anyone else, but I was completely shattered….

There are lots of THANK YOU messages to make…

Wend, John, Linda, Fiona, Laura, Sarah, Sara, Christine, Rich, Simon, Paul, Kirstie, Jill, Mark, Jo, Paul and Jenny who all gave up their time for some or all of the camp and in particular to Diana for being our home contact.

To the CubJam organisers, the “New Orleans” sub-camp team, the Gilwell Park activity teams and the people that clean the toilet blocks – never forget them!

To all the Mumz and Dadz – we’ve had lots of messages from some of you saying thanks to us which we really appreciate, but I want to turn that around and say a huge thank you to all of you for letting us take your Cubs away for 6 nights. Please believe me when I say they are all fantastic, so well behaved, so hard working, such fun! (Do not believe any of them if they try and tell you that they can’t do the washing up, carry anything heavy or keep rooms tidy. Our plates, cups and cutlery were kept spotless, our water butts were constantly full and the tents were kept organised and clean every day!)

To the Scouts that came and helped, Ruth, Will, Will, Jamie, Alex and Mox. You set a truly great example, I lost count of how many mucky billies and frying pans you washed up and your help with looking after the tents was extremely useful.

And finally to all the Cubs. THANK YOU to all of you for putting 110% effort into everything. To the old hands, well done for getting on with things as usual, there was lots of hard work in amongst the fun and no complaints. To the first timers, well done for joining in, paying attention and being part of it. When we come together as a team like that we can do almost anything. On the last night the Cub leaders sat and discussed who really stood out and who had done particularly well, but for once it was completely impossible to come up with a single name, each and every one of you was just brilliant.

I will let the Cubs fill people in on the details of what we all got up to, don’t forget to keep checking the 3HH website for photos, there are loads up already and still more to come.

All that remains to say is One, Two, Three, Four, Five, Six, Seven, Eight, Nine, Ten….what are we…???

Cheers all and thanks again.

Jon

PS – there’s a fair bit of lost property in the entrance hall of the hut, feel free to have a dig around if you think you’re missing anything. I’ve had one request to look out for a whistle with a built in compass and thermometer, so if one turns up and it’s not yours then please give me a shout.
