Expedition Challenge Camp 24-26 October 2009 sign up form
We’re aiming to run an event to earn our Expedition Challenge badge and maybe a few others as well. The dates for the camp are Saturday 24 – Monday 26 October 2009 which falls at the beginning of the October half term.
The camp format will be to:
- Walk on the Saturday from the 3HH HQ to the camp site about 8 miles away. They will carry a day pack with most of their personal gear being transported for them in a minibus. Scouts will be travelling in patrols along an agreed route and will be checked at regular intervals along the way.
- Spend the weekend honing their navigation skills, playing games and brushing up on various other scouting skills.
- Stay in small hike tents on the first night and then work in patrols to build and sleep out in bivvy shelters for the second
- Round off the weekend off with a return hike back to the 3HH HQ on the Monday.
Depending upon responses, we may have to restrict to the older or more experienced Scouts depending upon numbers – so we cannot guarantee everyone a slot. The cost of this camp has not yet been finalised but is likely to be approx £30 all in including camping over on Saturday and Sunday nights.
