Scouts’ Autumn 2009 Programme
Welcome back everyone; it was great to see you all!
We talked about it but so that you have your own copy, we’ve attached the term’s programme here. There’s bundles of exciting stuff planned. Some of them are old favourites and some are completely new. While there is lots of stuff packed in, some stand out highlights include:
- Earning our navigator and expedition badges
- Competing in the Dayprowl competition and hopefully retaining our trophy ![]()
- Learning to cook on “trangia” meths stoves and serving up army expedition rations as part of our training prep for the Expedition Hike camp in October
- The National Scout Air Rifle competition at Bisley for those who have been selected for the team, and shooting at the Twickenham ranges for those who are here
- Seeing if we can hold onto our title as District champions at the swimming gala
- Zapping each other at Laserquest
- Getting up close and personal with creepy crawlies and biting bugs!
- And as always, tons of fun, games and silly stuff…
Also please make sure that you take note of joint sessions for the Talons and Claws on the following dates:
- Friday 6 November: Fireworks and bangers night (no Tuesday meeting that week)
- Tuesday 24 November: Creepy Crawlies and Biting Bugs (no Friday meeting that week)
As a final reminder, next week Friday 18 Sept is a joint session at Hampton Pool starting at 7PM. Please bring £2.90 per person. We’ll be selecting teams for the swimming gala and generally having a splash around. There will be no one at the HQ.
See you soon,
Scout Leadership Team
