It’s the exciting spring Scout programme!
Hi all, please see attached our spanking new and super duperly exciting new PROGRAMME with dates for the whole year. This term sees us take on the Fitness Challenge badge which we’re approaching slightly differently by inviting you to try a number of new sports or fitness activities and which will culminate in running the Sainsbury’s Sport Relief Mile at the end of term; you want the badge? You gotta do the mile!…
We start with our annual air rifle shooting course; if you haven’t got your form in yet, please get it to Paul ASAP.
Our first competition is the district Volleyball tournament where we traditionally do well and we’ll be looking for a team from each troop and as with all the activities, we definitely need young Scouts to make up the teams, it’s in the rules! Look out for the flyer….
Our next event will be the Air Rifle Competition and all will be eligible to apply for a place on the team. Look out for the flyer….
Onto my favourite event County Night Hike, again all ages of Scouts are welcome to apply to join a team as this year we’re gonna win! Look out for the flyer….
We’ll be closing the term with the Patrol Leaders’ Training Camp, this year running from Friday night to Saturday evening. If you’re offered a place on this course, please do your best to attend as there is no better way to learn how to be a PL at camp.
At the end of term, we will of course be off to Easter Camp, this year at Phasel’s Wood where we last camped for the Scout centenary in 2007. Simon is organising this so expect a fun old time. Numbers may be limited on this camp as we can only take a finite number but we’ll advise on this nearer the time.
I’m really looking forward to this term already and can’t wait for the fitness challenges! Yeehah, here we go!
