3rd Hampton Hill Scout Group

Dear all, Please see attached details of our airgun competition. This will be held on 15th May 2010, following our incredibly successful previous event in 2008. Please note that this is open to all leaders, Scouts, 10 year old cubs and any adult family members associated with 3rd Hampton Hill.

If this is your first time shooting, don’t worry there will be plenty of adult instructors around to help you through things. Good luck! This promises to be a sensational event, lots of fun and accessible to all. Go on, why not have a go?

All the Sections have a fantastic programme for the term ahead. I am certain that 2010 will be another fun-filled and action-packed year of all things ’scouting’ at 3HH.

As another year comes to an end we can all look back on yet another fantastic year at 3rd Hampton Hill Scout Group! All the Sections have enjoyed a wonderful programme and have had chances to try new things.

We can also look forward to another exciting and interesting year in 2010. Plans are in place for another superb programme of Section and Group Events. We will also be raising the profile of our International Trip in 2011 to Kandersteg.

I would like to take this opportunity of saying a massive Thanks to all the Adults and Young Leaders at 3rd Hampton Hill for all that that do to make 3HH such a success!

I wish everyone a very happy, relaxed and enoyable Christmas. Wishing you all a prosperous, healthy and happy 2010. I look forward to seeing you all in January.

Some of you may remember former members of our group: the Boytons, Jon (Swedish), Chris and Matt along with parents Karin and Peter who were both very supportive of the group. Anyone who knows Jon will be aware that he was pretty proficient in a kayak and has since leaving the group gone from strength to strength in the sport, and is now a hopeful for the 2012 Olympics.

Hello All and Welcome Back!

Hope you all had a fab summer. Section meetings start again soon and I know that all the Sections have an interesting and exciting Autumn Term of Actvities and Events planned. A big thanks already to all the Section Leadership Teams for preparing and organising the forthcoming term of Section Meetings and Actvities – I know it will be another great Term at 3HH.

As a reminder to all Group Members we still have a number of opportunities to help with the Group. Please speak with any Section Leader or member of the Group Executive Commitee for more details on how you can help and support the Group.

Just a quick note to all members of 3HH to wish you all a fab Summer.

As the Section meetings draw to a close for the summer break and we prepare for scout summer camp I am already reflecting and looking back on a great year for the Group! We have all done and achieved so much already this year. Lots of Nights Away, lots of badges and much fun had by all. Do take a look at all the previous posts and pictures to see what a great time we have had so far in 2009.

I want to say a very Big Thanks to all the Leadership Teams and the Group Executive for all their hard work and to all the Young People for making 3HH such a fun place to be.

Wishing you all a very happy and enjoyable summer. May the sun shine down on you all wherever you may be and whatever you are doing this summer.

Just thought to say a huge thanks to all sections for their help with the Sainsbury’s Active Kids voucher scheme again tis year. We’ve collected over 4600 vouchers and have placed an order for:

two large storage cages
giant jenga
a limbo set
4 blindfold goggles
and a target set for bean bags

We also banked 183 vouchers for next year’s scheme. Thanks loads to all the sections for their valuable donations.

Wow! What a busy weekend! Fantastic! Take a look at the photos to see all the great things that went on.

The ‘Sun’ God shone down on us and provided nearly perfect weather. 3HH were successful in winning the Trophy for the Beaver Scout Challenge – Wall Building and also the English Heritage Twickeree Trophy – awarded this year for the Best Tapestry – well done! A very big thanks to all the adults and young people that made this weekend so much fun and such a success! Brilliant!

Hi all, as last year’s shooting event was sooooo successful we just couldn’t resist running it again. This year’s date is Saturday 13th June, yes very soon indeed!

* UPDATE * 1 JUNE 2009 – For a variety of reasons we have had to take the decision to CANCEL the Shooting Event this year. We hope that we can put this event back into the Calendar for 2010

Twickeree Invitation and Details

We look forward to seeing you there.

Twickeree (19-20 June 2009) is the District’s triennial weekend camp (‘District Jamboree’) where all groups in Richmond District camp en masse in Marble Hill Park in a massive advert for Scouting.

All Sections at 3HH take part in this camping event (including Beavers who can visit). It would be great to have a really big turnout. We encourage all members of the Group to attend and families to come and visit on both days! Please see attached invite letter and return your responses to your Section Leader as soon as possible.

The Annual St. Georges Day Parade and Service is on Sunday 26th April 2009.

This is the annual event where all the Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Explorers and Adults of Richmond Upon Thames Scout District come together to parade through Richmond and then Renew their Scout Promise. Therefore everyone from 3rd Hampton Hill is expected to attend in full smart uniform please. Thanks.
