sheep on a hillWe’ve posted the fantastic Beavers spring 2011 programme for this coming. We’re doing loads of fab stuff this term.

But please remember, to earn your badges you really need to make it to Beavers as much as possible, especially for the challenge badges as these are the ones that ultimately count towards your Chief Scout Bronze Award.

Beavers Go Sledging

Friday, August 6th, 2010
Beavers

In what has now turned into a firm favourite for the end of term celebration, both colonies of Beavers once again headed for the Sandown slopes.

The weather stayed fine, the Beavers had a riotous time and some were even lucky enough to be swum up to Cubs that night! What a brilliant time everyone had and a perfect way to mark the start of the Summer holidays.

Beavers Tea Party

Beavers

bliss charity logoBliss, the special care baby charity, provides vital support and care to premature and sick babies across the UK. 3HH’s Beavers decided to get involved with the “cake a difference” week in order to fundraise for this great charity.

After a rather messy cake decorating session, the parents came back a bit early to enjoy a tea party hosted by the Beavers. There were lots of cakes munched, everyone had loads of fun and we managed to raise a whopping £100.20!

Thanks heaps to everybody for the support. And a special thank you to everyone who made cakes.

Mad Professors blow up volcanoes!

Saturday, October 18th, 2008
Beavers

20081017 Scientific BeaversThe mad professors in white coats came along to do some really cool experiments with the Beavers this week.

The Beavers kicked off by testing the strength of eggs by crushing them with monstrous amounts of heavy books. Eggtastic! Then they experimented with mixing alkaline and acidic potions just like in a weird laboratory.

Afterwards the HQ was awash with flaming lava flowing across the floor and plumes of choking smoke spiralling up as Mount Etna erupted (well sort of…). The professors showed everyone how to make some real exploding volcanoes for themselves :-) !! It’s amazing how much fun you can have with home made play-dough, food colouring, vinegar and bicarb of soda. Simply Awesome.

Have a look through the photos to see more of what we got up to.

A huge thanks to the Mad Professor family for coming along and wowing the Beavers.

Beavers Summer Newsletter May 08

Wednesday, May 14th, 2008
Beavers

Dear Beaver Parents,

Here is the revised summer program for Beavers this term. I have had to cancel the meeting on Friday 4th of July as I am away, and all the Cub and Scout leadership will be on Borough Camp. If you had signed up to help on that evening maybe you could help on another evening?

You may also notice that the last evening is invitation only. I thought that it would be a good idea to reward the Beavers who achieved one or more of the following: attending St Georges Day Parade, attending a Church parade or having a parent who volunteered to help. If you have any difficulties with this then please contact me or see me on a Friday evening.

Regards Jane
