There will be a briefing on Sunday 17th January which will give more of an insight to the Jamboree experience. So at this stage you are not committing yourself. Scouting provides adventure, challenge and opportunities for young people aged 6-25. We believe in helping our Members fulfill their potential by working in teams, taking responsibility, learning by doing and thinking for themselves. Members are guided and where needed, are lead and supported by adults. There are around 100,000 adults helping ‘scouts’ to achieve their full potential. We are working to make Scouting available to All and we are passionate and committed about what we do.

jamboree1-entrance-3As I gaze out of the window this morning and watch the rain I transport myself back to the summer and a reservior full of young people enjoying water activities. Splash! (‘EauZone’) the water activities aspect of the World Scout Jamboree (WSJ) was held at Alton Water, near Ipswich in Suffolk. Every day 4000 participants took part in a range of water activities. A truly memorable experience for all those involved. To see all those happy smiling faces at the end of each session was a really fantastic sight which left you with a really good feeling and made all the hard work and preparation worthwhile.

But for 3HH the partying doesn’t stop in 2007. 2008 will also be a big year for us; it will be our official Diamond (60th) Anniversary!

2007 is an exciting year for everyone as we will be celebrating 100 years of scouting. A World Jamboree is being held to celebrate the occasion. It will be a mammoth explosion of all things scouty. 3HH will be there – Andy W has successfully negotiated his way through the selection process, and some of our leaders are sharing their knowledge as part of the service team. Those not able to go to this Jamboree will not be left at home. We will be joining the district for our own party.
