Scouts

Hi all, a few reminders for you and some important information regarding a change in the planned programme.

Firstly to the programme changes – we’ve had to swap round the hike planned for next Friday 27th June with Superscout. Superscout, the ultimate challenge for Scouts is now next Friday 27th June so Mark will have to bring the trophy back. As usual one of the activities will be air rifle shooting and your Scout MUST return a signed permission to shoot form or they will not be able to undertake this particular discipline and will lose a large chunk of possible marks.

Cubs Summer Term Programme

Cubs

Hi Everyone. As promised last week, here’s the programme for Cubs 2008 Summer term. Lots and lots planned, including our Outdoor Challenges, Athlete and Cyclist badges. No making beds required this term – not as part of Cubs anyway!

A few things to highlight:

* Church parades are scheduled for first Sundays of May and June as normal, but in July Church Parade will be on Sunday 20th to celebrate St James’s Day.

* It’s an open invite to all parents for the last night of term, 16th July. Weather permitting we’ll have some fires going and do “schmoors” and other fireside tasties.

* Summer Camp. Dates are finalised and the site / activities booked, more info on this coming soon, e.g. costs, but be sure to get the dates in your diary (26th – 30th July) and be ready to respond quickly if you want to come!

* We’ll be requiring some additional parental help for a couple of the events, so if you can assist with any of those listed on the programme please do let us know – especially if you already have a valid CRB check!

Cheers all, see you soon. Jon and Wend

Beavers

Hope that you all had a great holidays and are ready for more Beaver fun!

Attached is the Beaver Programme Summer 2008 Programme. We’ll be doing lots on “Famous Scouts” and will be working towards some new badges.

For parents, I’m after lots of help now that Wend has moved onto Cubs. There will be a parents’ rota available in the Hall and any offers of help with be most welcome. I can’t run Beavers without you all pitching in once in a while.

If you would like to help out and can do any of these dates or activities then please do let me know. Thanks!

See you soon, Jane

p.s. Don’t forget St. George’s Parade on Sunday. Details below.
