3HH Youth Proficiency Scheme 2024

A huge well done to six 3HH Scouts for completing the official National Smallbore Rifle Association (NSRA) Youth Proficiency Scheme (YPS) at 3HH HQ.

Having listened attentively and put in to practice their new skills during a couple of Saturdays in a chilly January, they underwent their assessment on the evening of Thursday 25 Jan. Everyone scored full marks on the written test and they were brilliant with their shooting.

With the exception of Gabriel, all other scouts were 10 or 11 years old and for the first time ever (due to a lack of Scout section uptake) older Cubs were invited, so we were joined by two 10-year old Cubs.

An outstanding achievement for all involved with final grading as follows:

• Mastershot: Gabriel
• Expert: Lily
• Marksman: Florence, Sophie, Horatio and Tommy
