🌟 Join Us as a Charitable Giving Lead – Help Make Scouting Accessible for All!
We’re looking for someone with a heart for helping others and a knack for finding opportunities to join our team as Charitable Giving Lead. This is a vital role in our group, helping to keep finances on track while ensuring that no young person misses out on Scouting due to financial hardship.

🧠What’s the Role All About?
As Charitable Giving Lead, you’ll help us:

Keep our group financially healthy

Support families in need
-
Secure donations and sponsorships from businesses, community groups, and charitable funds
You’ll be working closely with both our Chair of the Board of Trustees and the Group Lead Volunteer.
⏱️ Time Commitment
This is a flexible role, averaging around 2–3 hours per month, depending on the time of year and size of the team. Some months may be quieter, while others (such as leading up to big camps or events) may be a little busier.
đź’Ľ Responsibilities

Manage existing funding sources and research new ones

Build relationships with local businesses and organisations to secure donations or sponsorships

Work with our Trustee Board to identify where funds are most needed, including:

Supporting specific activities, projects, or events

Helping families cover membership fees (subs)

Making sure all young people can join camps and adventures, regardless of their financial situation

Coordinate and document donations with the Treasurer

Represent our group and uphold the values of Scouting

Attend Trustee Board meetings to stay aligned with group needs

✅ What You’ll Need to Join

A successful Disclosure check (also known as CRB/DBS)

Completion of a tailored training programme suited to the responsibilities of the role
