3HH at Bisley 2022

We should all be proud of the conduct and achievements of the 17 scouts we took to the Bisley National Scout Rifle Championships t

his weekend. An unpredictable year being the first since 2019 and a real team effort, competing, supporting each other and helping on camp.

Full competitor details will come out soon, but for now, I list the known bronze, silver and gold medal places below, where Junior means U14 and everyone else is Senior. We came away 17 medals, two cups and two shields.

  • Senior Target Sprint Beginners: Silver – Sam
  • Field Target: Gold – Paul
  • Junior Pistol: Gold – Freddie
  • Team Pistol (3x highest scoring U14’s + 1x Senior): Bronze – Jon, Freddie, Matilda & Gabe
  • Team Rifle, Fellowship Trophy (3x highest scoring U14’s + 1x Senior): Silver – Wend, Freddie, Josh A & Matilda
  • The Chief’s Prize (overall national champion U14 aggregate comprising rifle, pistol & field target): Gold – Freddie
  • Connaught Trophies for the overall national championship (team aggregate comprising rifle, pistol & field target): Junior Bronze – Freddie, Josh A & Evie; and Senior Bronze – Arne, Tilly & Saken.
  • There are 2 medal places unconfirmed for the new event Turning Target. We potentially have Gold – Thomas and Silver – Saken.
HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
