Cub’s Winter Sleepover 2024

Date: 9th Jan 2024 Author: Matt Rogers

On the 6th of January, 3HH Cubs celebrated the New year in true scout style! They learnt about tracking and put their navigational skills to the test out in Bushy Park before heading to Brunswick Table Tennis club for a session run by Table Tennis Dave. The walk back to the hut made the total hike distance 14km! That’s a long way for some little legs!

We added a tropical theme to our evening with pre dinner mocktails and a limbo competition. After dinner the Cubs were charged with preparing their own puddings to cook on the fire. Chocolate cake in an orange and the highly successful pineapple upside- down cake cooked in the Dutch Oven.

After an energetic Saturday (and a very late night for some!), Sunday morning was all about the chill. Lazy breakfast, board games and make your own American style pancakes.

A huge cheer for all those Cubs that spent their first night away from home, and well done to the more experienced Cubs who supported them. Everyone had a great time. We really have a lovely bunch!
