Celebrating 75 Years of Scouting at 3rd Hampton Hill Scouts!

Date: 11th Oct 2024 Author: Matt Rogers

This October marks a significant milestone for 3rd Hampton Hill Scouts—we’re celebrating 75 years of serving our local community! Officially registered as a group in October 1949, our history is rich with adventure, growth, and the development of young people.

For the past seven decades, 3HH has continued to thrive by delivering an exceptional programme that equips young people with skills for life. From camping and outdoor survival to leadership and teamwork, we’re proud to offer experiences that inspire confidence and resilience in every Scout who walks through our doors.

But Scouting at 3HH isn’t just about the youth. It’s also a fantastic opportunity for our dedicated team of adult volunteers, who not only play an essential role in guiding the younger members but also get to enjoy the incredible activities themselves. Whether it’s leading expeditions, organizing community events, or just having fun around the campfire, our volunteers gain a great sense of well-being and achievement from being part of this special group.

As we look ahead, we’re committed to maintaining and improving the facilities that support our Scouts. Our wonderful building continues to serve as a hub for adventure, and we’re excited to announce the addition of a new minibus to our group, ensuring more accessibility for trips and events.

Looking to the future, we are thrilled to be working on some exciting developments. We’re preparing to open Squirrels, a brand-new section for boys and girls aged 4 to 6—the perfect introduction to Scouting. Additionally, we are planning to reopen our second Beaver Colony, ensuring even more young people have the chance to embark on their Scouting journey.

As we celebrate our 75th anniversary, we reflect on our incredible past while eagerly looking forward to the future. Thank you to all of our volunteers, parents, and community supporters who have made 3rd Hampton Hill Scouts what it is today—here’s to many more years of adventure, friendship, and growth!
